Easy To Do It Yourself

My Kenmore Elite washer had a problem draining the water in the middle of a load. We looked up the F02 error online and it said to clean out the filter and hoses. If everything is clear, replace the Water Pump. The pump was making a loud noise anyway but after taking apart the hoses and seeing they were clear, it was obvious the the problem was the pump.

Sears Parts was charging $120 for the whole assembly which included the pump, plus who knows how much to have a technician come in. I took a risk and ordered pump on Amazon for only $50.

Not only did this pump work. But it was easy to replace. JUST 3 SCREWS! Now my washer is running beautifully, new pump is quieter and I now have confidence to repair my washer if something else breaks.

Works well, easy install.

We have an older (6 – 7 years old) Whirlpool Duet washer that has worked fine for all these years. Then we got an F / 02 code on the front panel and it refused to drain. I took the drain mechanism apart to check the trap to see if anything was caught in it that was preventing draining. It was not. That left the pump. I ordered this pump instead of the full assembly and it’s been working fine ever since (a litle more than 2 weeks at this point).

The install process is pretty quick — less than an hour (mine would have been shorter but I had detached the hoses when removing the pump and re-attaching them securely was the hardest part). You will need to take the o-ring gasket off the original pump and move it to the new one, and you will need some silicone grease to cover the gasket to make sure the seal is waterproof (about $3 at a hardware store).

I did research about why my Duet machine was not pumping water out- this was the anwer- I needed a new pump motor.

It arrived two days prior than expected, My hubby did the installation in 15 easy minutes (do not forget to transfer the O-Ring from old to new unit). Nice, quiet, efficient operation- the washer is now back in business. This purchase was for motor only- which was all we needed to make the Duet washer like new again. Thanks Amazon!
