A propane refrigerator or propane freezer use the heat generated from burning propane to provide cooling for the appliance. This sounds counter-intuitive, but it is made possible by the use of absorption refrigeration technology.
Many persons are intimate with LPG – liquefied petroleum gas – from experiences using propane heaters and propane cookers. However, the use of propane to cool with a water, ammonia and hydrogen mixture is less wide spread.
The functioning of an absorption refrigerator is rather complex, so I will only explore it briefly here. Below is a description of the cooling cycle in one of these propane fridge freezers.
The burning propane is employed to heat a pressurized burner unit. This compartment holds a combining of water and liquid ammonia. The flame boils this mix, and it then bubbles into another unit referred to as the separator.
In the separator, the ammonia gas is disunited from the water and in turn passed on to a section of the apparatus referred to as the condenser. In a propane fridges condenser, cooling finds cool the ammonia gas which causes it to convert back to pure liquid ammonia.
Once cooled the liquid ammonia proceeds on to the propane refrigerators evaporator unit. Here the liquid ammonia combines with hydrogen gas, resulting in the pressure of the ammonia dropping. The end result of this is that the ammonia once again changes phase to a gas by evaporating.
Because this evaporation absorbs heat, it results in a net cooling in the compartment. This cooling is what refrigerates the appliance. After evaporation the gaseous ammonia moves on to an absorber unit. There is recombines with liquid water and at last goes back to the boiler, where the entire routine starts again.
One crucial point to keep in mind with regards to propane refrigerators and propane freezers is that they will have to be kept level. The chief reason for this that in the absence of any moving elements a huge share of the mechanism for the absorption cycle depends totally upon gravity. If everything is not exclusively level some of these flows may be disrupted.

 Better than expected

My decision for a compact refrigerator was a double door design. Separate freezer and refrigerator.
I highly commend this product and this brand (Air Purifiers USA). After ordering the product, I contacted the develop (via the email confirmation details), and asked regarding the color options. White on white vs. Stainless on black. (I read them on the product description page, but was not competent to make the selection for the duration of checkout). The gentlemen suggested putting the order on hold for 2 hours, he then contacted the warehouse, determined availability, and called me back and I chosen Stainless on black. The order arrived in 3 days using regular shipping and the box was very well packaged. In fact, the firstborn packing carton was inserted into a more or less larger carton (with good padding) and the entire packing was introductory rate.
The refrigerator is a thing of beauty. A full size look in a compact size unit. Stainless front with black box. The top has a commodious molded tray, designed to be applied as a ‘spill proof’ counter top. The topside is big sufficient to hold coffee maker, cups, etc. and will never scratch.
Time will tell if this unit will carry out as expected. My selfconfidence is high and I am a very pleased customer.

Excellent Product, splendid client service

I purchased a more or less dissimilar model 1 year ago. It has worked superbly all the time. So, why do I bother to write the review NOW ? Because of Support. I necessitated to move the fridge to another location, and re-hung the doors from hinges-on-the-right (the way it came from the factory) to hinges-on-the-left. When I was done, the freezer door was more or less misaligned and did not close properly. I called their 800 number; it is busy much of the time (it is either busy, or a person answers, no waiting), but it was worth retrying. When I got through to a person, HE ACTUALLY WALKED ME THROUGH THE STEPS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM on the phone; no charge, no hassle (and he spoke flawless American English, as opposed to me). I am so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. These guys may trade me any of their instrumentation any time.

After lots of research, I decisive to get a fridge with distinguished freezer and refrigerator constituents because I read that having a freezer inside the fridge compartment will make either the fridge too cold or too warm depending on how you dial the setting. This fridge got compliments for it is looks in my office, and works great! So quiet, I don’t observe it’s there! The freezer freezes ice cubes and the refrigerator keeps my feed cold. The dial was without apparent effort set so that the fridge is not warm but not so cold that it freezes the food. I was even impressed that the dial could be set so cold that my feed got frozen in the fridge section!
